Robert Haswell was probably best known as an officer on the voyages of the Northwest Expedition under Captain Gray and Kendrick on board Lady Washington and Columbia Rediviva. Unfortunately he is often censured by the maritime historical community for his outspoken ideas and fiery personality. Comparatively little research has been done on his history, despite several well-known relations.
While I am currently working on a biography of Haswell, I thought I would share some of the primary and secondary source material I and many lovely enthusiasts and friends have compiled. Please be sure to visit the links section for information on books they have written and if you have any information on Haswell please be sure to contact me. I would be most appreciative of even one tidbit of information on him as long as it is from a reputable source.
